SAARC Development Fund (SDF), a Specialized Body of SAARC, seeks a Chief Executive Officer to lead its Secretariat in Thimphu, Bhutan. SDF promotes regional integration through project-based funding.

The SAARC Development Fund (SDF) Secretariat, established in 2010 is the umbrella financial institution of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The SDF Secretariat establish in Thimphu, Bhutan undertakes and implements projects and programmes under its 03 windows: Social, Economic and Infrastructure in fulfillment of the greater developmental aim of the SAARC region. 

Job Role

• be in charge of the SDF Secretariat's operational staff and will oversee the organization's daily operations under the guidance of the Board of Directors (BoD);
• Be in charge of running the company in compliance with the rules and regulations.
• Oversee SDF's operations, including choices about loans, investments, guarantees, and technical support.;
• Be the ex-officio member of the BoD;
• be obliged to the SDF Board for carrying out their official duties.;
• be in charge of overseeing and implementing the authorized projects on time while working closely with the SAARC Secretariat and SDF Member States;
• Be in charge of creating and timely submitting the Annual Report and Progress Report to the Board of Directors.; 
• Be the legal representative of SDF.
  

Eligibility Criteria:

Experience:

A minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven track record in a financial institution of international/regional/national standing, and/or in development project and financial management in public sector, with at least five (5) years’ experience in a leadership role.

Required:

Experience of dealing with the developmental challenges and opportunities faced by the

developing economies, preferably in the SAARC region

👉Experience in Project Appraisal and Budget/Portfolio Management would be an added

      advantage.

Education:

Post Graduate Degree in Finance/Business Administration/Economics.

Required:

An advanced degree in Business Management, Public Administration or Public Policy

would be an advantage.

Age Limit:

Candidates should be between 45 – 55 years of age

Citizenship:

A bona fide citizen of any Member State of SAARC.

Remuneration and allowances:

In accordance with the applicable SDF regulations, the CEO would receive US$ 6,600 [US Dollars Six Thousand Six Hundred (tax-free)] in compensation, housing, transportation, and other allowable benefits.
